Top 5 Surefire Signs It's Time To Start Following Your Passions

Okay, so you're very accomplished. You have several degrees, earn a good living, and you're pretty great at what you do. Your colleagues know that you will always get the job done, so you're in demand. The same may also go with your family and friends, they know you'll take care of what needs to be taken care of, so you do and you're pretty great at it. You control things in such a way where no one really knows what it takes to do what you do.

But amongst all of that doing for others (i.e., your job, your friends, your family, etc.), it's easy to leave YOU out of the picture. When you're relied on so much by others, you tend to learn how to get real good at doing things you don't like or even want to do. You get good at putting yourself and your desires and passions on the side.... until later when you have more time, more energy, more money, more (fill in the blank).

But the reality for most is that later takes way too long to show up and in the meantime, you're running through life on empty, not getting fed in the deepest part of you and maybe even not remembering how.

Well, the great news and biggest blessing is that you're not wired to just be okay with that. No one is. You were created to be fed, to honor yourself, your desires and passions. And when you cut that off, your body, your behavior, and your life will tell you. You simply have to be aware of the signs.

So, here are the top 5 signs that indicate it's TIME. Time to take your passions and deepest desires off the shelf. It's time to start getting fed!

  1. You feel like you're going through the motions of your life. You have a lot going on but you don't really feel connected to any of it. You're doing it because you're expected to or have always done it, but nothing really feeds you.

  2. You're super swamped with work with little to no time for anything else in your life. Your work isn't exactly where your passions lie, so you find yourself reaching for external things to comfort you and help you feel like your life is yours. The external things include things like overeating/mindless snacking, mindless shopping, expecting others to make you happy, etc.

  3. You constantly watch other people and what they're doing, comparing yourself to others, judging others, and what they should or shouldn't do with their life. All while not taking action to move toward your dreams in your own life.

  4. You daydream regularly about doing work you're passionate about and find it more and more difficult to focus on your day job. You used to give 100% at work, but now it takes everything in you to make it through the day.

  5. You've been putting your passions and desires on the back shelf of your life so long you barely recognize you. The vibrancy, energy, excitement you had for life, has been replaced by headaches, little energy, boring routines, and even depression.
